My debut collection of poetry Bright Spots found me as winter met spring and I chose to meet myself. Book 1 follows my inner musings from February through May, from the final straws of an ending engagement through the beginning of deep self-knowing and self-loving in the face of memory recovery post-traumatic brain injury. This book is an intimate exploration of grief and healing, deep friendship, and the fleeting moments that brighten a day and lighten a season.
Accompanying my words are the outstanding illustrations from artist Megan Elizabeth Charles. A best friend’s artistic take on the journey they witnessed firsthand can be seen throughout the book.
